Film Vault Friday: Weird Patton

For frequent talk show viewers, the word “junket” usually brings a sense of dread. How many times can we hear the same cute anecdote from the movie set, Mr. A-lister? But then there are press tours like that of Patton Oswalt, whose new book Zombie Spaceship Wasteland is taking him on the rounds of the talk shows (Daily Show last night, Fallon tonight, with hopefully more TBA).

Here’s a guest appearance from Oswalt in earlier days, on a show with much less cache: The Weird Al Show. (The truly weird thing is, I do remember watching this when it originally aired in 1997.)

About the Author

is the author of the book Bears & Balls: The Colbert Report A-Z. Called "one of the city’s most discriminating comedy critics” by NOW Magazine, Sharilyn has been covering comedy for longer than she cares to admit. She served as the comedy reporter for Winnipeg's Uptown Magazine for five years, and was the host of the radio show Laugh Tracks for three seasons. Her work has also appeared in the Toronto Star, the Winnipeg Free Press, The Apiary, and on CBC Radio's national comedy programs LOL and Definitely Not the Opera.

What a great clip! I never knew this show existed. Thanks for posting it. Kevin Weisman from Alias as a Fonzie’esque character. Classic.
