Film Vault Fridays: Fry & Laurie

Sorry I’ve been scarce, folks. Runnin’ myself ragged and now sick in bed with a cheap knockoff of the H1N1.

I started off this feature last week with video from 1986, so let’s continue with that year. Here’s a retro piece of meta comedy from Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie (yes, that Hugh Laurie… I would hope you all know of his comedic roots by now!).

If you’re in the NYC area, Stephen Fry will be signing copies of his book Stephen Fry In America at Idlewild Books this Monday night at 7.

About the Author

is the author of the book Bears & Balls: The Colbert Report A-Z. Called "one of the city’s most discriminating comedy critics” by NOW Magazine, Sharilyn has been covering comedy for longer than she cares to admit. She served as the comedy reporter for Winnipeg's Uptown Magazine for five years, and was the host of the radio show Laugh Tracks for three seasons. Her work has also appeared in the Toronto Star, the Winnipeg Free Press, The Apiary, and on CBC Radio's national comedy programs LOL and Definitely Not the Opera.

One Response to Film Vault Fridays: Fry & Laurie

Feel better, Sharilyn! And thanks for the F&L video. The anglophile in me just raised its happy fists. I’m considering going down to Idlewild to see Mr. Fry. I’ve had a platonic yes-I-know-he’s-gay crush on him for 20 years. I just want to hug him.
